New Comedy Web Series Airs First Episode

November 1, 2011— Month of the Novel, a new comedy web series, aired its first episode today on YouTube. The series follows the hilarious adventures of a writer attempting to complete a 50,000-word novel in one month and what happens to her characters as a result.

The show is a collaboration between several filmmakers from around the USA. It’s hard for unproven writers to get a screenplay produced, so producer/director Jordan Smith wanted to use Month of the Novel as an opportunity to give novice screenwriters a chance to hone their craft and actually see their work in a finished film.

With coaching from a team of story supervisor Aubrey Hansen, director/producer Jordan Smith, and co-producer Ruth Shafer, each writer created an original short screenplay based on the Month of the Novel concept. These screenplays were shot in October by Phantom Moose Films and will air on YouTube starting today, November 1, with new episodes each Wednesday until the end of the month.

Month of the Novel will also be released on a special DVD edition in December that will include an exclusive DVD-only episode and other bonus material. Pre-orders are available now at a special discounted price.
