Episode 5 was one of the craziest shoots we’ve ever done. It started well, though. J. Grace Pennington, who wrote the episode, was able to come out and help on the set, which was great fun. We even put her to work as a script and slate wrangler.

However, things got wacky when we got completely rained out with just two shots left before wrapping. We came back the next morning to pick up the final shots, but before we could shoot, we had to explain to some horses that they were in the way.

The final post-credits scene about editing the novel is somewhat flipped from how it played in the script. Originally, the Writer reacted to Bree’s question first, followed by the characters’ response. When we cut the episode together, it flowed better to reverse the two reactions.
